Google Pixel’s Manual Screen Call UI/UX is a mess!
In this regard, there exist two settings- automatic and manual. In the former method, Google will automatically transcribe all your calls wherein in the manual approach, you will get the Screen Call button in between the Decline and Accept buttons. And this is where lies the issue. The Screen Call option doesn’t appear alongside accept or decline right after the phone rings, rather it will take a second or two to appear.
As a result of which, the position of all these three buttons changes, and instead of tapping on Accept or Decline, users end up tapping on the Screen Call button. To make matter worse, once the screening has started, you cannot undo the change or even end the call until the Assistant reads out that lengthy introductory paragraph.
This manual UI/UX mess in Pixel could easily be dealt with if the Screen Call button appears at the same time when the Accept or Decline buttons appear, aka as soon as the phone rings. Until that happens, we will be witnessing numerous accidental taps on this feature.
